How Special is it that you decided to do something for YOU! You should be so proud for gifting yourself the most important gift. The gift of self-love. Now that you’ve decided to do a photoshoot, let’s make sure you have the best experience possible!
1. Personalize your shoot– Bring things that make you YOU. Things that we can incorporate as props into the shoot. This will not only bring out your personality in your shoot, it will also help you feel more comfortable having things that are familiar to you. For example, for Angel’s birthday shoot, she brought her guitar and we started the photoshoot off with her playing her guitar. This instantly relaxed her and put her straight into her element.
2. Set your intentions– Why do you want to do a birthday photoshoot? Is it to simply celebrate you? Is it to be extra and boujee? Is it to do something daring and out of your comfort zone because you're ready for this new season of life? Whatever the reason is, let your photographer know. That way we can help you make your vision come to life.
"This year I'm choosing to focus on myself. This is the year of self-love. To giving myself the love I give to others."
3. Wear an outfit that makes you feel most confident and like the BAD B that you are! The number one priority is to do *you*.
Some key things to remember when choosing your outfit:
4. Schedule your shoot at least one month ahead of your birthday. Every photographer has a different turnaround time especially depending on the season we are in. Let’s be real, you’re going to want to post these stunning photos of you on your birthday so make sure to schedule ahead of time!
5. Most importantly, HAVE FUN!
Birthdays are fun. Birthday parties are fun. Birthday photoshoots should be too, and not just because the photos will be that much more radiant. They can also be intimidating. Bring your closest friends along for a fun friend photoshoot to pass the vibe check. Or your parents who gave you this beautiful life.
